[ A ]Challenge
News about Amsterdam's club scene is scattered across music media, club channels and local press. Nachtwerk brings it together in one place, and adds the context you need: where to go, when, and what it sounds like.
[ B ]Process
- 01
25 news sources
Seven music media with their own RSS feed (like DJ Mag NL, Mixmag and XLR8R), plus Google News searches for nine clubs, seven festivals and Amsterdam nightlife.
- 02
Relevance filter
A story only gets a club or festival label when that name is in the headline. General stories only stay when they are about the scene, and duplicates are removed.
- 03
Fresh every hour
Feeds are fetched on the server and refreshed every hour. Stories from music media without a picture get one looked up automatically.
- 04
The guide
Eight clubs, a festival calendar from DGTL at Easter to ADE in October, a tempo guide with BPM ranges for eight genres, and where to buy tickets and what to listen to.
- 05
Editorial design
A newspaper-like layout with sections (katernen), a red infrared photo treatment, a live news ticker and a video montage in the hero.
